    RAIL.ONE plans new corporate structure

Corporate adaptability crucial for sustainable success

Neumarkt, 01 June 2015 – RAIL.ONE Group intends to implement a new corporate organizational structure. Essential element in this reorganization is the separation of the present company RAIL.ONE GmbH into two companies: one for Germany, our most important market, and one for systematic further development of the international business activities.

The ongoing development of domestic and international markets in the field of railway infrastructure confronts the industry with ever new challenges. „It is our conviction that corporate adaptability is a crucial factor in assuring sustainable success in our dynamic, competitive business environment“, says Jochen Riepl, CEO at RAIL.ONE.

By creation of a company for Germany, one of the group’s most important markets, RAIL.ONE Group will more clearly dedicate its definite and long-term commitment to its regional and technological home. „Creation of more strongly focused structures in the core market of Germany will enable us to transfer customer needs into highly qualitative solutions even better than before; a stronger emphasis on innovation and development activities will provide powerful and reliable answers to future challenges“ commits Verena Moosburger,  responsible for the German Business and designated CEO for this division. „ RAIL.ONE will internationally grow. As a result, we will access new markets with significant potentials – not only for us, but also for our partners and clients. With our new corporate structure, we will simplify control of this growth“, says Torsten Bode, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at RAIL.ONE. The new corporate identity will further enhance the international reputation and competitiveness of RAIL.ONE Group.

RAIL.ONE plans a new site in the Rhine-Main area

RAIL.ONE plans a new site in the Rhine-Main area

Due to the termination of the operating lease in Langen, RAIL.ONE was forced to evaluate its future in the Rhine-Main area. However, an important milestone for our future was reached last week, says Verena Moosburger, head of the German Division. RAIL.ONE plans to start the sleeper production in Aschaffenburg at the beginning of 2017. Through the mutual understanding with the local partner to conclude a long-term rental agreement, the company based in Neumarkt will maintain its presence in the strategically important Rhine-Main area and thus consequently pursues the company’s new strategic direction. In addition to the optimal railway infrastructure, the location in Aschaffenburg also offers all other conditions that are important for the production of first-class concrete sleepers.

The turnout sleeper production, also located in Langen, is to be integrated into the existing sites in Coswig (Saxony) and Kirchmöser (Brandenburg). Therefore, important know-how on existing locations will be combined with turnout sleeper production. In the future, the new site in Aschaffenburg shall be the logistic center for sleeper delivery in the west of Germany – the regional availability plays here a key role. For us it is important to be present in the region – also in the future. The increasing customers’ demand for an extremely high quality product can be satisfied by the availability of the first-class resources in the Rhine-Main area, notes Verena Moosburger, head of the German division. After the city of Langen has decided to no longer approve industrial production on the present site as well as in any other commercial area, we searched for a suitable area – not an easy task. That is why we are pleased to have found a long-term and future-compliant location with the area in the port of Aschaffenburg, says Jochen Riepl, Chief Executive Officer of RAIL.ONE GmbH. The completion of the storage yard and therefore also the delivery ability is already planned for autumn 2016; the relocation of the production facilities to Aschaffenburg, Coswig and Kirchmöser is scheduled at the turn of the year 2016/2017.

South Korea: opening of the Honam Line high-speed railway

On 1 April 2015 a festive ceremony opened the 182.3 km line in southwest Korea

Neumarkt, Germany, 15 April 2015 – RAIL.ONE, leading international manufacturer of concrete sleepers and systems provider for railtrack infrastructure, have delivered 536,900 concrete sleepers to the companies SAMPYO Engineering & Construction, Kuedo Kongyung, and HwaSung-Kuedo. These bi-block sleepers, from the RHEDA 2000® portfolio of non-ballasted track systems, were installed on the 182.3 km Honam Line. This line branches off near Osong from the existing high-speed line between Seoul and Busan and leads via Gwangju to the port city of Mokpo, in the southwest of the Korean peninsula. Production of the sleepers took place in plants in Icheon and Cheonan, which are operated by RAIL.ONE together with its joint venture partner Taemyung Industrial Co. Ltd.
On 1 April 2015 a festive ceremony opened the 182.3 km line in southwest Korea. The new high-speed line will reduce travel time between Seoul and Gwangju from 160 to 90 minutes. This enormous project success once again confirms RAIL.ONE in its leading position in ballastless track technology. In the earlier, second section of the high-speed railway from Seoul to Busan – the Kyungbu Line, finished in 2007 – more than 390,000 bi-block sleepers from the RHEDA 2000® system were installed over a length of 136 km. Until now, RAIL.ONE have installed a total of more than 3,500 km of track and more than 150 turnouts and rail expansion joints from the RHEDA 2000® system and from models based on RHEDA technology.

    RAIL.ONE reinforces its team

Well positioned with new Sales Manager

Neumarkt, Germany, 10 December 2014 –RAIL.ONE Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of concrete sleepers and systems provider for railway tracks, has reinforced its strategic position. With a new Sales Manager, the company emphasises its claim as a service-oriented partner as well as its long-term global ambitions.

As from now, Torsten Bode, 40, assumes responsibility for sales and marketing at RAIL.ONE.

With this decision, RAIL.ONE positions itself in the global competition as a group not only relying on innovation and quality, but also on the immediate proximity to the customer.

For Bode these claims go hand in hand: “Only the comprehensive knowledge of customer requirements allows efficient solutions – without active and an honest exchange between customer and supplier, there is an immanent risk of insufficient sales orientation and inadequate development activity.”

“Together with my colleagues I will work on the extension of our product and service portfolio with focus on quality, safety and the optimum benefit for our customers.” Jochen Riepl, CEO of the RAIL.ONE Group, is looking forward to the collaboration: “With Torsten Bode we were able to win an industrially experienced all-rounder. With his background as a civil engineer and a long-term experience in the international rail industry, he is the ideal peer for employees, management and customers. He perfectly fits into our philosophy for our existing and prospective customers, to be the reliable manufacturer and service provider as well as the active quality- and user-oriented partner of choice.”
