RAIL.ONE exports its experience, logistics, and technology. Standardized models for sleeper plants can be quickly and simply built at any location that offers the required infrastructure. Such plants enable production of up to 600,000 concrete sleepers per year: in manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic modes of production, in accordance with the customer's requirements.

For each new product, RAIL.ONE attempts to implement the optimal solution: cost effectively, in satisfaction of all the customer's requirements, and precisely tailored to the site and to the conditions prevailing in-country. The legal form of collaboration is also designed to suit each customer: in the context of a purely consulting solution, on the basis of a license agreement, or through founding of a joint venture.

A major international project frequently makes it necessary to quickly construct a new sleeper factory. In Greece, for example, RAIL.ONE delivered and assembled a new plant for the production of B70 sleepers – in only 4 months. Parallel to implementation of this factory, RAIL.ONE also conducted a comprehensive training program to acquaint the customer's staff with the required technical know-how, and the fundamentals of sleeper production. Introduction of all required testing and measuring procedures, furthermore, established the basis for reliable and effective quality management. In 2003, RAIL.ONE constructed plants at very short notice for concrete sleeper production in Romania and in Germany, with the plants opening almost simultaneously in the two countries. Further such projects are underway throughout the world.

Step by step to success

From the very beginning of client contact, RAIL.ONE provides powerful support for its customers and business partners. One of the first steps with the customer is specification of application conditions for the track to be constructed: for example, train operational speed, axle loads, implementation in either ballastless or ballasted mode, and the like. The following step is development of optimal sleeper design, followed by studies of the existing infrastructure, the terrain features, and available raw materials. The next stage includes new design of a production plant, or modification of a proven plant type. After investigation of production conditions, relative humidity, temperatures – as well as concrete additives such as sand, stone chippings, and aggregate – sample sleepers are constructed and tested under local conditions in the customer's country. Official approval is granted in accordance with the relevant regulations and standards: e.g., British, American, Australian, or German Standards. When the new sleeper factory is built, it is usually the case that the sleepers have already been certified. Productivity and cost effectiveness can be reliably calculated in advance.
