RAIL.ONE charts a course for the future at InnoTrans

Using the motto “Quality knows no limits,” the PCM RAIL.ONE Group showcased its entire portfolio of innovative track systems for rail transportation at the Berlin exhibition grounds from September 20 to 23. The Neumarkt-based conglomerate's completely redesigned booth was a popular meeting place at the biggest InnoTrans of all time.

Neumarkt/Berlin, September 27, 2016 – This year's InnoTrans underscored its importance as the leading fair for transportation technology by setting new records: 2,950 exhibitors, almost two-thirds of them traveling from outside Germany, presented their products and services to an interested trade audience. One of the attractions in Hall 26 was the new RAIL.ONE booth, which was adapted to reflect the company’s corporate design. With the help of innovative presentation software and high-quality discussions with representatives of the global subsidiaries, a large number of visitors learned more about products and reference projects in the field of modern rail track systems.

One particular draw at the booth was the full-size model of a hinged turnout sleeper. Developed in partnership with Deutsche Bahn, this innovation allows pre-assembled switch elements to be transported on regular freight cars, thus eliminating the need for costly special shipments by rail. The company intends to have more new products to showcase when InnoTrans opens its doors once again in two years (from September 18 to 21, 2018).

    Profile of RAIL.ONE Group

The PCM RAIL.ONE Group has been manufacturing concrete sleepers and track systems for urban transit and long-distance rail transportation for over 60 years. The technology leader also offers its expertise in the fields of engineering and plant construction. The PCM RAIL.ONE Group is comprised of several companies and eleven production facilities with a presence in Germany, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Korea, Hungary, Turkey, the United States, and India. It maintains annual capacities of over 5 million track sleepers and 750,000 linear meters of turnout sleepers. RAIL.ONE produces optimized products and custom solutions with over 800 employees around the world. As a group of companies RAIL.ONE generates average annual revenues of approximately 145 million euros.

Track systems made by RAIL.ONE: international and innovative

The role of rail-based freight, commuter, and mainline transport around the world is growing. This boom is fueled in part by numerous international infrastructure projects in which the PCM RAIL.ONE Group – with over 60 years experience in the production of concrete sleepers and state-of-the-art track systems – is an important player. The company will be on hand at the InnoTrans transportation technology trade show to present reference projects and product innovations such as a sleeper with an integrated RFID chip.

Neumarkt/Berlin, 21 September 2016 – Those who build railway lines in countries such as South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the United States must take into account totally different conditions of geography and climate. “RAIL.ONE is already on the ground at eleven facilities in eight countries, producing highprecision track systems and concrete sleepers to meet the unique requirements of a wide diversity of regions. This gives us the closest possible relationship to customers, so we can better understand their needs and respond accordingly,” remarks Torsten Bode, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at the Neumarkt-based conglomerate, speaking at the InnoTrans transportation technology trade show in Berlin. The Managing Directors of all worldwide subsidiaries were on hand from day one of the event to provide the attending industry professionals with details on international business developments and current projects.

Numerous reference projects attest to the success of the global expansion strategy. In South Korea, the TM Track Systems Ltd. joint venture is producing and supplying most of the sleepers for the high-speed line from Wonju to Gangneung, which will form part of the “Olympic Line” slated for completion in 2017. This line is set to carry most of the passenger traffic for the Olympic winter games in Pyeongchang in February 2018. The ballastless track system will rely primarily on the RHEDA 2000® system, developed by RAIL.ONE and fieldtested around the world.

The Ha’il production site in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is running at capacity for the medium term with annual production of some 610,000 track sleepers and approximately 96,000 linear meters of turnout sleepers. The ballastless track technology and concrete heavy-haul sleepers for ballasted systems are intended primarily for completion of the key high-speed line connecting the pilgrimage cities of Medina and Mecca with connections to the economic center of Jeddah and for construction of what is currently Saudi Arabia’s largest railroad project, the 2,400-kilometer North-South Line.

RAIL.ONE is living up to its own ambitions as an innovation leader with a project in the United States. RFID chips are being embedded in the concrete of UP15 heavy-haul sleepers for quality assurance purposes, making it possible to permanently track data such as the production date and materials. Inserting the electronics makes it possible to reliably read out data and protect the technology from external influences.

    RAIL.ONE at the InnoTrans 2016

RAIL.ONE will present itself at the InnoTrans Exhibition in Berlin in Hall 26, Booth 305. The InnoTrans is the leading trade show for transport technology and is taking place September 20-23, 2016. In addition to its comprehensive portfolio of modern track systems for rail transport, RAIL.ONE will focus on further internationalizing the company’s business fields.

Neumarkt/Berlin, August 30, 2016 – “The Future of Mobility” is the theme of this year’s InnoTrans. As a technology and quality leader in track systems and concrete sleepers, RAIL.ONE sees the future of mobility in a global context. That’s why the company is continuing its strategy of recent years to expand its global production facilities.

“Our goal is not just to provide the best quality for every application. We also aspire to accommodate specific customer needs, including regional variances such as climate, geography, and local standards in different parts of the world,” says Jochen Riepl, CEO of the group based in Neumarkt in the German state of Bavaria. This path is promising, as evidenced by any number of projects already completed in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, and elsewhere in which customers have testified to the high quality of the track sleepers produced by RAIL.ONE.

At Booth 305 in Hall 26, RAIL.ONE will present its portfolio of railway sleepers and ballastless track systems for local, long-distance, and freight transport, along with plant construction and engineering services with newly designed interactive software that allows visitors to explore products and reference projects on their own.

At this year’s InnoTrans, representatives of all subsidiaries from various countries in Europe, Asia, and North America will be on hand to contribute and share their collected experiences. Schedule a personal meeting to learn more about product specifications and the requirements of local markets and industries.

    RAIL.ONE implements new corporate structure

Neumarkt, Germany, 1 August 2015 – The corporate reorganization of RAIL.ONE GmbH, international sleeper manufacturer and systems provider of innovative railway track systems, has reached a new milestone.

As emphasized in an announcement in May of 2015, RAIL.ONE depends on entrepreneurial adaptability to be sustainably successful in its core business. With the target of adapting the group even more successfully to customer orientation, growth and innovative strengths, the company has implemented a new organizational structure. The German Division has been separated into two entities, to go into effect on 31 July 2015.

The company RAIL.ONE GmbH is today responsible for the German market, at the same time also the entrepreneurial and technological homeland of the corporate group. Under direction of Verena Moosburger, focus here is clearly on fine-tuned customer orientation: “Consistent orientation of our activities toward the needs of our customers – as well as an open-minded and closely-knit cooperative culture with a focus on future-proof technological developments – are essential elements for our sustainable success in Germany”.

All international activities, business development, central holding functions, and groupwide management of technologies and innovations will be the responsibility of the company PCM RAIL.ONE AG, under direction of Jochen Riepl. Here as well, there is a high mood of excitement and a fresh start with regard to the further development of the group in its new structure. “We are confident that this bold move marks our launch into a new phase. Our focusing on even further professionalization of our activities, as well as on closer interlocking of our special skills as a group, will support our position as an internationally valued business partner. With new products and services, we will convince our customers even more of our truly unique portfolio,” said Jochen Riepl, CEO of PCM RAIL.ONE AG.

Despite organizational and legal separation, both corporate entities will operate under the same roof at group headquarters in Neumarkt, Germany. In December of 2015, both companies look forward to relocating to their new offices in Neumarkt’s new signature complex “NeuerMarkt”. On more than 2,000 square metres of future-oriented office space, the group will be hard at work on realization of their ambitious goals.

RAIL.ONE plans a new site in the Rhine-Main area

RAIL.ONE plans a new site in the Rhine-Main area

Due to the termination of the operating lease in Langen, RAIL.ONE was forced to evaluate its future in the Rhine-Main area. However, an important milestone for our future was reached last week, says Verena Moosburger, head of the German Division. RAIL.ONE plans to start the sleeper production in Aschaffenburg at the beginning of 2017. Through the mutual understanding with the local partner to conclude a long-term rental agreement, the company based in Neumarkt will maintain its presence in the strategically important Rhine-Main area and thus consequently pursues the company’s new strategic direction. In addition to the optimal railway infrastructure, the location in Aschaffenburg also offers all other conditions that are important for the production of first-class concrete sleepers.

The turnout sleeper production, also located in Langen, is to be integrated into the existing sites in Coswig (Saxony) and Kirchmöser (Brandenburg). Therefore, important know-how on existing locations will be combined with turnout sleeper production. In the future, the new site in Aschaffenburg shall be the logistic center for sleeper delivery in the west of Germany – the regional availability plays here a key role. For us it is important to be present in the region – also in the future. The increasing customers’ demand for an extremely high quality product can be satisfied by the availability of the first-class resources in the Rhine-Main area, notes Verena Moosburger, head of the German division. After the city of Langen has decided to no longer approve industrial production on the present site as well as in any other commercial area, we searched for a suitable area – not an easy task. That is why we are pleased to have found a long-term and future-compliant location with the area in the port of Aschaffenburg, says Jochen Riepl, Chief Executive Officer of RAIL.ONE GmbH. The completion of the storage yard and therefore also the delivery ability is already planned for autumn 2016; the relocation of the production facilities to Aschaffenburg, Coswig and Kirchmöser is scheduled at the turn of the year 2016/2017.

    RAIL.ONE plans new corporate structure

Corporate adaptability crucial for sustainable success

Neumarkt, 01 June 2015 – RAIL.ONE Group intends to implement a new corporate organizational structure. Essential element in this reorganization is the separation of the present company RAIL.ONE GmbH into two companies: one for Germany, our most important market, and one for systematic further development of the international business activities.

The ongoing development of domestic and international markets in the field of railway infrastructure confronts the industry with ever new challenges. „It is our conviction that corporate adaptability is a crucial factor in assuring sustainable success in our dynamic, competitive business environment“, says Jochen Riepl, CEO at RAIL.ONE.

By creation of a company for Germany, one of the group’s most important markets, RAIL.ONE Group will more clearly dedicate its definite and long-term commitment to its regional and technological home. „Creation of more strongly focused structures in the core market of Germany will enable us to transfer customer needs into highly qualitative solutions even better than before; a stronger emphasis on innovation and development activities will provide powerful and reliable answers to future challenges“ commits Verena Moosburger,  responsible for the German Business and designated CEO for this division. „ RAIL.ONE will internationally grow. As a result, we will access new markets with significant potentials – not only for us, but also for our partners and clients. With our new corporate structure, we will simplify control of this growth“, says Torsten Bode, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at RAIL.ONE. The new corporate identity will further enhance the international reputation and competitiveness of RAIL.ONE Group.
