Concrete sleepers and track systems for mainline railways and urban rapid transit:
Neumarkt, Germany, 17 January 2007 – RAIL.ONE GmbH, formerly Pfleiderer track systems, will present for the first time its portfolio of products and services to a broad specialist public in India. Innovative system solutions for rail systems, as a product of the future, will represent its focal point at the International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2007, which will take place from 13 to 16 February 2007, in New Delhi, India.
On the initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology, and of the Association of the Railway Industry in Germany (Verband der Bahnindustrie in Deutschland e.V.), more than 30 German companies from the area of railway transport and technology will take part with a joint stand at the specialist fair IREE 2007. The presentation by RAIL.ONE GmbH will focus on the RHEDA 2000® monolithic ballastless track system, which has proved successful for years now in the implementation and operation of major international high-speed lines. RHEDA 2000® has by now been applied in a large number and wide range of variations, in special projects as well: both in the construction and upgrading of railway tunnels, and as RHEDA CITY for urban and suburban passenger and tram lines.
In addition to the internationally acclaimed RHEDA 2000® system and the classical monoblock sleepers for traditional ballasted tracks, the RAIL.ONE GmbH spectrum of offerings encompasses a great number of individually developed variants for a wide variety of applications. A number of examples:
* In the asphalt-based GETRAC® A3 system, the system’s own wide sleepers reduce the contact pressure on the top surface of the asphalt. As a result of great productivity in track installation, short construction periods, and long-term savings in track maintenance, this system offers highly appealing benefits, including its especially great cost effectiveness.
* With the RHEDA CITY system, bi-block sleepers with non-prestressed reinforcement are embedded in a compact, in-situ concrete slab. The grooved tramway rails are then installed onto this system. The top coat can be applied in the form of asphalt, concrete, or paving blocks. With RHEDA CITY GREEN, the appealing “Green Track,” the cover is provided as turf or sedum. With this solution, the vegetated track attenuates the noise level, and can store up to 80% of surface water from precipitation. For applications with underground and commuter rapid-transit systems, RAIL.ONE GmbH offers the RHEDA MRT system.
“The development of RAIL.ONE GmbH from a sleeper sub-contractor to a systems and engineering provider with a comprehensive approach, in conjunction with latest technological expertise, as well as close and trusting collaboration with our customers and partners: these are the crucial factors that have led to our increasing success as globally active company,” said Richard Ziegler, CEO of RAIL.ONE GmbH. “With our projects in Germany, Europe, and Asia, we can convincingly evidence our competency and the performance of our ballastless track technology for all three leading high-speed rail systems: the German ICE, the French TGV, and the Japanese Shinkansen. For the future as well, this success will make us an attractive partner around the world for multinational consortiums in their construction of sophisticated railtrack systems.”
