German High-Speed Initiative at the METRO 2004 trade fair in Guangzhou, China

Berlin, Butzbach, Neumarkt/Germany, Guangzhou/China, April 2004 - Together with its partners - the rail engineering division of Siemens Transportation Systems, the turnout-systems supplier BWG and the track-systems supplier Pfleiderer - the German High-Speed Initiative is presenting its range of products and services to a wide specialist public for the very first time in China. Innovative solutions for the rail market of the future will be the main focus of the joint presentation during METRO 2004, the 9th International Exhibition on Metro, Light Rail Transit & High-Speed Transit, which will take place in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou from May 26 to May 28, 2004.

The German High-Speed Initiative, started in December 2003, is an interest group formed with the specific objective of marketing German rail technology in China.

By pooling and combining the specific expertise of all three companies, the group will be able to offer Chinese rail authorities a competent consultation service and turnkey solutions from a single source. The aim is to promote the establishment and expansion of rail networks in China in order to create a modern high-performance transport infrastructure.
